Dover photos

The White Cliffs of Dover - famous landmark in the narrow sea strait that separates the UK from mainland Europa. By car ferry it takes little more than an hour to sail to France. With such a strategic location, Dover is home to many cruise ships that use the port's fine cruise terminal for turnarounds. Photo © 2008 Bart de Boer

The Dover Cruise Terminal used to be a railway station and is still easily recognizable as such. Car parking is available around the corner, making Dover a great departure port. Photos © Bart de Boer

From your cruise ship, you will have a good view of historic Dover Castle, which sits on top of the white cliffs, overlooking the Dover Straits. Photo © Bart de Boer

Ferry traffic to France and Belgium is non-stop. Around 14 million (!!) passengers and 6 million vehicles pass through Dover ferry port annually and it is very interesting seeing this operation continue 24/7. Photo © 2008 Bart de Boer
