With the top deck given over to the top suites, Europa's
observation lounge can be found on Lido Deck forward. Apart
from being the only public room with a view forward, Club
Belvedere serves as cocktail lounge, quiet lounge after dinner
and venue for classical concerts;
something that Hapag-Lloyd has been featuring for years. The
decor is very refined, featuring an interesting combination of
low-key, neutral furniture and some eye-catching artwork,
offset by floor-to-ceiling picture windows offering a
great view of sea and sky.

A beautiful arcade lined with original artwork leads aft and
offers access to the delightful Library (with Internet
Stations) and intimate Auditorium. Further aft doors lead
to the main Pool Deck with Europa's unique indoor/outdoor
pool. Measuring a generous 17,3 x 5,15 meters (56.7 x 16.8 ft), this is
one of the very few seagoing pools that can actually
be used for swimming. Part of the pool is covered by a
retractable glass roof; the other part is open to the
elements. It's simple as it is innovative! But what is that
white Porsche Cayenne Turbo doing next to the pool? At closer
sight it is revealed that Hapag-Lloyd has teamed up with
Porsche. While it is definitely a gadget to have an expensive
car parked on the sun deck, the seagoing Porsche seems oddly
out of place here. |

The "Wellness" thing is very big in the German-speaking
countries and of course Europa caters to every need with a
large Wellness Center on Sport Deck. Called "Spa Futuresse",
it houses a beauty salon, hairdresser and numerous treatment
rooms. The most impressive by far is the Japanese
room, with twin massage tables and a hot tub. Adjacent is the
relaxation room with chairs and loungers in all shapes
and sizes. And fitness fanatics will welcome the new glass-walled Fitness
Center that was added onto Bellevue Deck last September,
together with Sansibar, a new all-day, all-night "beach club". |

After exercising, why not grab a bite at the Lido Café? This pretty restaurant has two self
service buffets, discreetly screened off from the rest of the
room, which terraces down towards the aft open deck. Here,
covered by a large canvas awning, breakfast, lunch and the
occasional alfresco dinner are served in utter elegance. There is even a menu printed for each lunch buffet!
